Last week, the San Jose Sharks invited US Gymnastics Olympian Samantha Peszek for the puck drop at its match against the Colorado Avalanche.
Why? Well, this August 24-27, the 2023 US Gymnastics Championships will come to the SAP Center and bring the top artistic gymnastics talent to the Tank — just a little under a year before the Paris Olympic Games commence.
And San Jose isn’t new to welcoming world-class gymnasts. We hosted the US Acrobatic Gymnastics Championships in 2011, the US Olympic Team Trials in 2012 + 2016, and four other championships dating back to 2004. So this isn’t our first rodeo.
There will also be a USA Gymnastics National Congress & Trade Show this year — located at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center — which will offer seminars + demonstrations on sports science, fitness, and nutrition.
