Our local food scene is as vibrant as ever, so it’s no surprise there are a slew of local chefs serving up fresh, vegetarian bites across town. From vegetarian sushi to scrumptious vegan tacos, here are 20+ restaurants serving up meat-free fare in San Jose.

Pizza Flora , 78 S. First St. | Sold by the slice or a full pie, you can get a taste of its most popular pizza, “Pesto Porcini,” made with white sauce, vegan pesto, and a house-made vegan mozzarella.

Veggie Grill , 3055 Olin Ave. | From loaded “beef” bowls to Beyond burgers, this spot tucked in the Row offers just about any comfort food you can think of — as well as delicious desserts.

Bossman’s Pizza , 418 W. Capitol Expy. | While not 100% plant-based, this pizzeria offers a full vegan menu offering Tandoori, BBQ, Cajun, and Buffalo wings, as well as garlic sticks and a build-your-own vegan pizza.

A2B Indian , 55 River Oaks Pl., Ste. 90 | Get a taste of North and South Indian dishes at this restaurant that offers plenty of shareable combos and family-style appetizers. Try this: The mini podi idli (popular South Indian side made with lentils + chilies)

Saravanaa Bhavan , 1305 S. Mary Ave., Sunnyvale | This vegetarian eatery serves all your Indian cuisine favorites, including 60+ different dosas, a variety of uttapams, and sweet desserts.
