We love parties + parades, but Pride can be about so much more.

Celebrate love in all its forms by supporting San Jose’s LGBTQ+ community and giving back to these five local charities and nonprofits.

Billy DeFrank LGBTQ+ Community Center | 501(c)(3) nonprofit

  • Started in 1981, this center serves as a resource space for Silicon Valley’s LGBTQ+ community and allies by providing recovery + peer discussion groups, HIV testing, and more.
  • The center hosts weekly game nights, story times, meditation sessions, and book discussions.

The LGBTQ Youth Space | Nonprofit

  • As part of the Family & Children Services of Silicon Valley, this program serves LGBTQ+ and youth allies ages 13-25 who live in Santa Clara County.
  • Its free drop-in services + counseling include support groups, art workshops, and mental health services.

Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) San Jose Peninsula | Support group

  • Founded in 1973, this organization supports, educates, and advocates for the LGBTQ+ community and their families, friends, and allies.

Outlet | Nonprofit

  • As a program of the Adolescent Counseling Services of Santa Clara + San Mateo counties, Outlet aims to empower LGBTQ+ youth through social and therapy groups, mental health and counseling services, and other educational resources.

  • This organization works to foster inclusive discussions around LGBTQ+ inclusion, provide educational resources, and preserve Silicon Valley’s LGTBQ+ history and culture.
  • BAYMEC hosts speaker series featuring local LGBTQ+ influencers and leaders and maintains Queer Silicon Valley, a digital resource for our region’s queer history.
