It’s gonna be May and lots of fun events are coming to SJ, including the San Jose Cinco de Mayo Celebration spearheaded by the United Lowrider Council of San Jose.
Here are some quick things you should know:
- The celebration is on Sunday, May 4, in East San Jose.
- The festivities begin with a lowrider parade, 9 a.m.-11 a.m., cruising along King Road from Alum Rock Avenue to Story Road.
- After the parade, enjoy the free, family-friendly Cinco de Mayo festival at Emma Prusch Farm Park, 11 a.m.-4 p.m., featuring food vendors, artisan booths, and more lowriders. Organizers expect ~15,000 attendees.
- The lineup of live entertainment includes artists like Alfonso Salazar, Analyn, and The Jams.
- If you want to volunteer to help the celebration run smoothly, sign up here.
- If you’re a local small business, festival organizers are still accepting merch vendor applications.
- Some road closures will be in place before + during the event.
