Your ultimate Taco Tuesday itinerary in San Jose, CA
Let’s dig in to our Taco Tuesday plans. | Photo via @tostadas.sj
Here at SJtoday, it’s always tac-o’clock — and it’d be a crime if we didn’t mention that tomorrow is National Taco Day. 👀
To prepare, we’ve designed an all-day Taco Tuesday itinerary to remember with six local taco stops.
🌮 Breakfast
Tostadas, 304 E. Santa Clara St. + 1699 W. San Carlos St.
Start your day with a blackberry jamaica mimosa + a trio of tacos — choose from steak, shrimp, birria, or veggie poblano. The birria tacos are the fan fave.
🌮 Lunch
Dia de Pesca, 55 N. Bascom Ave.
Take a break from your computer, chill at this spot’s patio + get a taste of the ocean. Along with its many seafood dishes, we recommend the taco sampler which includes grilledhalibut, chorizo, and breaded coconut prawn tacos.
Try Pre Hispanic Mexican Cuisine’s unique flavors.
Pre-Hispanic Mexican Cuisine, 80 Descanso Dr.
This popular truck regularly frequents local parks, markets, and breweries, so catch it when you’re feeling that 3 p.m. rumbling for more food (and maybe a beer). Try its achiote citrus chicken taco with pickled onions + cucumbers, or its al pastor yucateco taco with fresh pineapple.
🌮 Dinner
Adelita’s Taqueria & Bar, 1896 Curtner Ave.
Bring a crowd to enjoy Adelita’s family specials, or unique lettuce-wrap tacos, prawn + fish tacos, and even vegan quinoa tacos. Come for the diverse menu of taco meats, and stay for the extensive list of drinks (we recommend pairing your taco with the ‘beergarita’).
🌮 Post-drinks cravings
La Burrita, 3146 S. Bascom Ave.
Don’t miss out on its $1 Taco Tuesday deal where you can fill up on its popular al pastor, or more adventurous choices like cabeza + lengua.
🌮 Late night bites
Tacos Los Tres Reyes, 2520 Story Rd.
Close out your Taco Tuesday at this East San Jose staple that’s open daily until 12 a.m. Parking may be limited, but you have to stop by for its flavorful meats, large salsa bar, and agua frescas. Expect a line + limited English-speaking staff, but also pure deliciousness.
