San Jose Earthquakes to host FIFA World Cup watch parties

Soccer fans, you won’t want to miss this.

From Sunday, Nov. 20 to Sunday, Dec. 18, the San Jose Earthquakes will host FIFA World Cup watch parties at The Old Wagon Saloon & Grill and O’Flaherty’s Irish Pub.

Expect almost a month of festivities — with matches streaming at 5 a.m. and onwards at The Old Wagon and 7 a.m. onwards at O’Flaherty’s.

For Thanksgiving weekend (Nov. 25-27) and the World Cup final (Sunday, Dec. 18), bring the whole family for a soccer street festival with huge outdoor screens on St. John + San Pedro Streets.

Some can’t-miss match-ups include:

  • US vs. England (Friday, Nov. 25, 11 a.m.)
  • Argentina vs. Mexico (Saturday, Nov. 26, 11 a.m.)
  • Spain vs. Germany (Sunday, Nov. 27, 11 a.m.)

So far, 8,000 San Joseans have RSVP’ed for the first week of watch parties — are you going?
