Since launching in 2019, the Creative Ambassadors program aims to engage San Joseans creatively — through special programs or art installments — to celebrate our artistic, cultural community.

Five local creatives are chosen by the Office of Cultural Affairs based on their artistic track record, community engagement, and other criteria.

Let’s meet 2024’s Creative Ambassadors.

  • Pantea Karimi — This artist’s “Garden Impressions” will honor our region’s historic orchards using prints of botanical clippings from Guadalupe River Park.
  • Deborah Kennedy — The author’s “Broadside Art and Poetry Project” will encourage residents to express themselves through poetry + lyrics.
  • Rayos Magos — Utilizing printmaking techniques, narrative storytelling, and more, the artist will create a book called “Symbolic Narratives.”
