San Jose brewery to release ale in solidarity with Anchor SF Union

Fox Tale Fermentation Project plans to release a specialty Solidarity Ale on Labor Day Weekend, Sept. 1-4, 2023, to support Anchor SF’s union in their bid to reclaim the over-century-old brewery.

Say hello to Fox Tale’s owners Felipe + Wendy.

This weekend, enjoy a beer knowing that you may help save a century-old brewery.

In early July, it came as a shock to the Bay Area when the Sapporo corporation announced that Anchor Brewing in SF would shut down operations after 127 years in business.

Though initially disappointed, Anchor workers became determined to purchase the company’s assets — with International Longshore and Warehouse Union Local 6 + Project Equity — and keep the beloved brewery running.

That’s where Fox Tale Fermentation Project comes in.

Along with several other breweries, Fox Tale will release a “Solidarity Ale” this Labor Day weekend to support Anchor workers’ efforts to reclaim the institution.

Enjoy a 4.8% pre-prohibition style California ale made with malted barley and yellow corn from Admiral Maltings at 30 E. Santa Clara St. All proceeds will go towards the Anchor workers’ union.
