In a region well-known for its agriculture, Santa Clara County is becoming a great place to grab locally made cider.
Now that fall has arrived, we’re talking cider spots that you’d be hard-pressed to miss. Here are four spots in the great 408 to grab a crisp, cool hard apple brew with your crew.
The Cider Junction, 820 Willow St.
As Silicon Valley’s first cider taproom, this establishment whips up both traditional + experimental ciders. We suggest ordering a flight to taste from its 20+ taps. Try this: The Sincere Ginger Agave cider (5.9% ABV) blended with Peruvian ginger juice and blue agave nectar.
Brew City Grill, 651 W. Hamilton Ave., Ste. 1070, Campbell
We can totally confirm that the guava and mango ciders are must-tries — its Ace Guava Cider even won a permanent handle on the tap line. This taproom usually releases seasonal cider specials the further we get into fall.
Fox Tale Fermentation Project, 30 E. Santa Clara St., Ste. 120
This downtown taproom is known for producing ales, ciders, and “Mock Tales” — and it just released its Elderberry Fire Cider, available in bottles and shots. It’s made up of some unexpected ingredients like pomegranate, chile de arbol, horseradish, garlic, cinnamon, and lacto fermented honey.
River Rock Taproom, 155 S. Murphy Ave., Sunnyvale
Enjoy this serve-your-own beer, cider, wine, and kombucha bar with 20+ different taps. The offerings rotate often, but a popular choice is the Ace Pineapple Cider.

City Editor Alyson here — you know, I was driving back to my house and exiting off of Capitol Avenue when I noticed that the off-ramp is severely lacking light. My partner, in the passenger seat, went on to complain that there’s no standard contact to help with this issue.
That’s when I told her to... Dial3-1-1.
