  • San Jose Monopoly launched this week, and the board contains some surprises: Boardwalk + Park Place are taken up by the Winchester Mystery House and Original Joe’s. San Jose Mineta International Airport is offering festive live music for busy holiday travelers

With the holiday season in full swing, many will be traveling through San Jose Mineta International Airport — potentially a 6.6% jump from last year.

But SJC is doing things a little different this year: aside from its usual fare of delicious restaurants, the best midsize airport in the US will also feature more holiday magic (and we’re not just talking about the therapy dogs).

The airport has festive holiday decorations set up throughout the terminals and — during peak hours this week — will have live holiday music courtesy of local musician Simon Santiago:
  • Wednesday, Nov. 22 | Terminal B | 9 a.m.-11 a.m.
  • Saturday, Nov. 25 | Terminal A | 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
  • Sunday, Nov. 26 | Terminal B | 9 a.m.-11 a.m.
If you’re traveling through SJC, check out our guide covering everything from gates + parking to details on the airport’s 41 nonstop flights.

I’m both surprised and saddened that not a single Hallmark Christmas special was filmed in San Jose. What better way to teach someone the meaning of the holidays than with a hunk in a Sharks jersey over a snowman hot chocolate?
