🍹Let’s get some mimosas
In a diner, and on a square plate, fancy french toast, with bacon, and slathered in nutella in between the skewered slices, with chopped strawberries scattered around. There's a green coffee cup in the background, out of focus.

🍳 Weekday wonders

Bill of Fare, 1069 Saratoga Ave., San Jose | Diner | 7:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. | $$ | What we’re ordering: a Brother Buzz omelet (mushrooms, bell peppers, onions + swiss cheese), Mama’s Greek Yogurt, and a Beer-mosa. City Editor Gregg here — I have extremely fond memories of this spot, as I used to frequent it with my grandfather before he passed in 2005. It’s changed a lot over the years, but the menu remains great.

Other downtown Campbell events will be unaffected. (The Mercury News)

🌧️ When the last drop of rain has dried

The worst of the storm has passed us by — but many in San Jose are still without power.

If your lights are out, here’s how to keep yourself safe.
  • In the event of an outage, keep your refrigerator + freezer closed, and disconnect appliances plugged directly into the wall.
  • Lost power, and need a spot to reconnect + recharge? Stop by any of the warming centers around the South Bay, complete with heated rooms, Wi-Fi, and power outlets. Note: Most locations only allow service animals, so check ahead before bringing Fido along.
  • Power outage affecting a nearby intersection? If traffic signals are out — or flashing red — treat the intersection as if it was a four-way stop sign.
  • Report outages and other issues to the San Jose Department of Transportation at 408-794-1900, or to PG&E at 1-800-743-5000. If you see downed power lines, stay away, and call 911.

As excited as we all are for the game this weekend, not every bar in the Bay Area is feeling the festivities. BuzzWorks, a sports bar on 11th Street in San Francisco, has banned 49ers fans from enjoying a pint on the premises. Where do you plan to cheer on the Niners? Let us know.
