Sports
Fresh off the AHL All-Star Skills Competition at Tech CU Arena, Barracuda player Shakir Mukhamadullin was feeling great. So, he invited all of the Russian hockey players in attendance back to his home in San Jose, and cooked them steaks. He said, “It was nothing special, just hospitality.” (San Jose Hockey Now)
Trending
Yes, that really was San Jose featured — however briefly — during Jimmy Kimmel’s opening monologue on Tuesday night. Kimmel was riffing on the recently-announced Apple Vision Pro, and joked about this San Jose Foos video.
Drink
Pour one out for the hop-heads. Pliny the Younger, Russian River’s legendary Triple IPA, is now on tap at many South Bay brew pubs. Not sure if your local bar has it on tap? Check out Russian River’s handy guide to see if it’s listed. (Bohemian.com)

A friendly reminderto book spring + summer vacations (they’re just around the corner). Want beach time? This Hawaiian oceanfront property has two king beds. Prefer the mountains? Book this lakeside chalet in British Columbia. Craving luxury? This tropical cabana in Montecito, CA has an on-site masseuse.*
The Giving Heart pillow — a cream, knitted, heart-shaped pillow that’s weighted to replicate the feeling of a real hug. It’s the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for loved ones who deserve some extra coziness and care.

Phase II of the BART extension into downtown San Jose has been off to a rocky start, with delays + ever-increasing costs. As we wait for more information on the next hurdle the project will face, we asked our readers for their opinion.
54% were worried it will be delayed again, 16% were hopeful it will be completed on time (this time), and 5% were unsure. 25% shared their opinions, and they ranged from hopeful to skeptical. Here’s what you said:
“If tunneling is so high, why not do an aerial ride down Santa Clara Street. I have voted for all tax increases, but not for new money for BART.”
“Definitely need Bart to SJ/Santa Clara, but it should just be above ground.”
There really is nothing better than enjoying a hot cup of coffee on a cold, rainy day. And even though the rain’s gone in SJ (for now), a big shout out to Voltaire Coffee for putting up with me hiding from the storm in its downtown cafe and obsessing over the delicious Nutella latte. A pour decision it was not.
