San Jose City Council made final approvals for the city to install 33 speed safety cameras in the spring of 2025 in areas prone to speeding and crashes. The devices will issue tickets starting at $100 to motorists traveling 16-25 mph over the speed limit. (KRON)

Developers Westbank and Urban Community are proposing three housing high-rises in downtown’s SoFA district spanning First, Second, and East San Carlos streets. The towers would be 30 stories high and include 1,147 residential units, plus retail space and amenities like a gym. The plan is going through the city review process. (SiliconValley.com)

San Jose’s Department of Transportation has received a $140,000 grant to benefit its Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety Program through September 2025. The money will support bicycle and pedestrian safety activities, including Open Streets events, helmet distribution to kids in need, community bike rides + walking field trips for older locals.

Local nonprofit Operation: Care and Comfort recently partnered with Greater NorCal Postal Customer Councils and USPS to fill, pack, and ship 800+ care packages to deployed troops.
