Whether you’re a sports fanatic — or just look good in teal and gray — when it comes to sports, San Jose has no shortage of teams to support. Today, let’s focus on the Quakes, who recently kicked off their 2025 season.

San Jose Earthquakes (MLS) | Est. 1994

The San Jose Earthquakes were among six other clubs that became the first teams in MLS. They were nicknamed the “Clash” until changing their name before the 2000 season.

In a major shake-up, the team named five-time MLS Cup champion Bruce Arena as its sporting director and head coach for the 2025 season.

Where they play: PayPal Park
  • With 6,256 participants digging into the ground, the construction of the Quakes’ stadium set the Guinness World Record for the largest ground breaking event ever.

If you’re fascinated by the life of Sarah Winchester and her famously “beautiful but bizarre” mansion (raising my hand, right there with you), then you might want to head to City Lights on Sunday, March 23 to see “Mrs. Winchester, or, a Gun in the First Act.”

The solo play is led by actor Lisa Morse and playwright Joe Christiano and follows Sarah Winchester as she “gives a personal tour of her conspicuous dwelling for a few lucky guests.” Grab tickets.
