The retail scene at San Jose Mineta International Airport is really taking off. The city selected two partners — Hudson and Paradies Lagardère — to co-manage a new retail concession program that will bring fresh places to eat and shop to SJC as early as this year.

Here’s a quick overview.

What’s coming

  • Terminal A and Terminal B will be home to 12 concepts specializing in local merch, snacks, travel essentials, and tech. The stores’ names + designs will include nods to local landmarks like San Pedro Square, Plaza de San Jose, and the Rose Garden.
  • We hear Nirvana Soul Coffee will be one of those concessions, opening within a little area dubbed SoFa Provisions.
  • Keeping it local: All grab-and-go food will be sourced within Santa Clara County. Hudson will spotlight homegrown brands like J. Lohr wines, Sweetdragon Baking Company, and Mike & Niki’s Honey Company. Paradies Lagardère’s program will include local offerings like Daybreak Coffee and Greenlee’s Bakery.
  • A Google “shop-in-shop” will sell the latest tech trends, with some products only available at SJC.
