Keep your eyes to the sky this weekend to catch a glimpse of the “Pink Moon” — but no, it won’t be a different color. April’s full moon has the rosy nickname because the month is associated with spring flowers. See what’s in bloom by strolling along one of San Jose’s hiking trails.

Hi San Jose! Monica’s out on a trip across the pond, so you’ll be hanging out with me for the next few weeks.
Fun fact about me is that I used to spend tons of time out in the Bay Area because every family vacation ended with a few days at my grandma’s in Orinda (she bought a house there in the 1940s when it was still just essentially a field). So getting to write for you all feels a little nostalgic. In fact, I just had to close Google Street View because I was spending too much time walking around the neighborhood.
I’m happy to be here.
