The 10-day culinary celebration will feature $50 three-course menus from 14 participating restaurants, including Dumpling Time, Meso, and Augustine.
Civic
Local leaders unveiled a $795,000 beautification project along Santa Clara Street that includes new murals, repainted buildings, and colorful lighting. The glow up aims to connect downtown’s districts, restore local pride, and make the city center more inviting ahead of the marquee sporting events coming to SJ in 2026 and beyond. The Stand recently debuted a location in The Waterford Plaza Center on West Capitol Expressway. The menu features the chain’s burgers, bowls, salads, wraps, hot dogs, and sandwiches. It’s open daily at 11 a.m.
Pets
Want to add a furry friend to your family? The San Jose Animal Care Center will waive pet adoption fees this Saturday, Aug. 16, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., for Clear the Shelters. Check out who’s available for adoption — the shelter’s goal is to find forever homes for 50 animals.
Development
Looking good, Levi’s Stadium. The 49ers’ home turf — which will also host Super Bowl LX on Feb. 8, 2026 — received $200 million in upgrades that include a high-tech control room that powers 2,300 TVs across the stadium, new 4K video boards, and a revamped team store. (The San Jose Blog)

San Jose Made will team up with Peculiarities Market to host their Summerween Market on Sunday, Aug. 24, 3-7 p.m. The free event will showcase 40+ vendors selling everything from handmade Halloween items to jewelry and sweet treats. Pro tip: Find parking at Sunol Community School.
Sports
“The Show” at Oracle Park — that buzzy Washington Spirit vs. Bay FC match on Saturday, Aug. 23 — is taking it up a notch. It’ll feature a lineup of performers, including Bay Area hip-hop artists Mistah F.A.B. flowin’ before kickoff and P-Lo taking the stage at halftime. Get tickets.
Older Adults
The North East Medical Services PACE Center is now open on Story Road. The facility specializes in all-inclusive care for senior patients as an alternative to retirement homes. Some amenities include a physical therapy + exercise room, an indoor garden, and a multipurpose room for socialization and meals. (NBC Bay Area)

After four years in business, Tiger Tea & Juice has shuttered its San Jose location, saying there’s “no viable path forward for this store.” The specialty beverage brand operates three other Bay Area locations, but you’ll have to drive quite a ways — they’re in Burlingame, San Mateo, and Daly City.
