Picture a place where fun and learning go hand in hand, where children can gain tools to help them grow into the talented, creative, and diverse leaders of tomorrow. If you’re picturing the Children’s Discovery Museum of San Jose , same.

Each year, the museum honors an individual who has made a difference in the lives of children with the Legacy for Children Award . Past winners include Mister Fred Rogers, astronaut Sally Ride, Sesame Street actor Sonia Manzano, civil rights activist and author Ruby Bridges, Olympic medalist Kristi Yamaguchi, and former 49er Ronnie Lott — and this year’s winner is no less impressive.

The 2022 Legacy for Children Award will be given to Cynt Marshall, CEO of the Dallas Mavericks + a champion for children, at the Sat., June 18 event, themed “Keep on Playing: An Evening for Grownups at the Purple Museum.” 🗓️

Funds raised from the event will support the museum’s 2022-23 Restoration and Revitalization Initiative which aims to restore museum operations and capacity to pre-COVID levels.

Tickets for Two ($750) are available now, which includes tickets for two people to the event and a Museum Membership for a foster care child and their advocate.*
